Timeout errors despite good connection 0 Recommended Answers 47 Replies Upvotes
Fresh install of latest version of Chrome on a new PC (iK, Windows 10 Enterprise version , OS build ). Pages do not load in chrome despite fast and stable internet connection on my work network. Microsoft Edge works perfectly but I'd much rather use Chrome. I get ERR_TIMED_OUT page and "Establishing secure connection" in bottom left status bar. Chrome will occasionally get a connection but it is usually lost again after about a minute. I have tried:
- Uninstalling and reinstalling chrome
- Reinstalling Windows 10
- Deleting all cookies and browsing data
- Disabling all extensions
None of these solutions fix my problem, and I am sure that it is chrome specific since other browsers work perfectly.
Any ideas as to what might be going on or how to better diagnose the problem?
Any help is much appreciated!

I am running core iK at home and k in the office both on Windows 10 pro version , Build
Chrome does not work on both of them on very fast and stable internet connection both at work and at home. I mostly use Firefox which is very fast and responsive on both computers. Microsoft Edge also works without issue. This is the error I get when loading a page on chrome;

This site can’t be reached asimi.co.ke (Or any other website) took too long to respond.
Try:

Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_TIMED_OUT

I have updated, uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome and even refreshed my Windows installation but nothing works. I have followed every guide on this page
but nothing works. I have a degree in IT, I have worked in IT support for a university and now I build and sell
gaming/animation computers, I am an animator. I consider myself quite IT Savvy but I can't get this application to work.

Sometimes I feel like it's a Microsoft sabotage because non of the computers I own runs Chrome, 2 highly specked desktop PCs and a surface pro 4 running on different networks. One of my recently sold desktop runs Ryzen x did not run Chrome on my home network and now runs perfectly on the buyers home internet without changing anything on the computer. That's weird!

I'm having the same problem. Pages load in Edge but not in Google. I'm also surprised that despite this issue being opened here, Google has not replied to assist with resolving it. I've since turned off all extensions including Google's (except AdBlock and Translate) and the problem seems to have been resolved, although it still takes a long time before a page appears.

Sometimes a page loads but then a few minutes later it doesn't load any more.
I have tried pretty much everything mentioned on the Internet to fix this.
It's a fresh install of Windows 10, updated with all fixes.
It's a clean install of Chrome (for the 5th time) no extensions, not logged in or synced with old data. Clean from the box Google Chrome.
Searched for malware, clean. Searched for virus, clean.
Flushed DNS, reset routing and internet settings.
EVERY other browser works but not Chrome :(
I turned off google-sync-and backup (or whatever it's called now) btw, that could access the Internet and Google servers with no problems.
Tried to disable firewall and antivirus.
Nothing works, I cant even reach asimi.co.ke or anything.
Found the solution. Or so i Thought, it kept reverting my changes, might work for you though?
A bit down in the answers there is instructions how you should turn off crypto…. something and edit the registry.
Now I downloaded a third party software that restored and repaired all microsoft settings..
This seems to work actually, even after reboots.
Since it's a third party software i can't swear it's virus free or anything but seems legit.
